I knew the Small would be much to tight for my liking. The Medium fit perfect from below my bust down. The problem was the bust area...it was too big. I'm 5'8", 137 pounds. Bust is 33.5B, waist about 29.5, hips 37. There was too much gap under the arms, so I had it taken in by about 2-3 inches to close the horrible gap. I just didn't have enough up top to fill it up. Other than that, the color is beautiful, the material is great---definitely not see-through. And this dress carries well on even the "mature" woman; I received so many compliments --no one believed I got this dress online. I've ordered the yellow one for our next Ballroom dance event.
